How do laundry sheets work?

Laundry sheets are single-use, soluble detergent sheets that are designed to clean clothes in a washing machine with a lower environmental impact. They typically contain a combination of laundry detergent, fabric softener, and other cleaning agents. Laundry sheets are mess-free, space-saving, easy-to-use alternatives to traditional laundry detergents; for those who want to make a difference, short on storage or who travel frequently.

Do you want to know the secret of how laundry sheets work? The fact is, it’s pretty simple…

  1. Pop a single 3.7g sheet into the empty drum of a washing machine.
  2. Add your laundry; you may need two laundry sheets for large loads up to 8kg, especially if it’s really dirty! We’d always advise checking those fabric care labels too 🙂
  3. Select your washing cycle (cool wash) and let the laundry sheets do their magic.

Do they actually work?

Yes, of course, laundry detergent sheets do actually work! While most people are sceptical of the format, laundry sheets are just as effective as powder, liquids and capsules. In fact, on average they dissolve 100 times faster than capsules. Better still they don’t leave any residue behind, meaning they are gentle to your fabrics and the planet.

How are laundry sheets better for the environment?

Laundry sheets are much better for the environment! They do not contain harmful chemicals or plastic packaging. The ingredients have been modified to remove unnecessary water and harsh chemicals: no palm oil, no bleaching agents, no preservatives, no parabens and no optical brighteners – just natural enzymes to help tackle the dirt (well in WABLU laundry sheets anyways!).

Above all, laundry detergent sheets are biodegradable, with 100% plastic free and recyclable packaging. We’d say they are definitely better for the environment, wouldn’t you?
